T&T: Clear Bottom Canoe

In the most recent issue of Caribbean Travel and ife, on the inside cover
was an ad for Cozumel and showed a canoe that had a completely clear surface
covering.  It looked like the material was stretched out over an aluminum
frame.  I checked around the MIA and FTL area at several kayak.canoe stores,
but nobody carries them or knows about them.
Anybody know about these or have any experience with them?  I would think
scratches from normal use would make them pretty opaque quickly.
