T&T: tee into fuel lines

PO installed a Tee into feed and return on  fuel  lines feeding 3208 and 12 kw gen. Never had a problem. Never thought about it. Planning on installing fuel polishing/distribution system with manifold feed and return for all engines.
   
  What is the concern with Tees?  is it a check valve issue on injector pumps? Assuming adequate sized lines on feed and return isn't it just plenum flow?
