I think that you will find that even Grand Banks farmed some of its boats 
out to "licensed yards".
I know for a fact that some Grand Banks are constructed differently then 
others. We spent alot of time and money i.e. survey costs during our search 
for The Sally Ann. After looking at all of the "Taiwan Trawlers'" we 
purchased a one owner 1986 Hershine SDMY.
It became clear that some of the East Asain Boats were better that others 
but the biggest factor like most things in life was the care that was given 
during the boats use.
My best advice is ask around and find a good surveyer and be prepared to 
walk away if the boat has major problems. The best money I spent on a boat 
was the cost of the survey on the two I did not buy. And yes one was a Grand 
Banks.
