Grand Banks boats are not and never have been built in Taiwan. The
original American Marine yard where they made their wooden boats
including Grand Banks models was in Kowloon, across the bay from Hong
Kong. When they made the switch to fiberglass in 1973, it was in their
new facility in Singapore, where GBs continue to be made today. Awhile
back they opened a second plant in Malaysia, across the bay or strait
from the Singapore plant.
