Suzanne:
Willards are built battleship tough, and have displacement hulls. They will
not go faster than hull speed, and they roll a bit more than most trawlers.
This one will not due to the bolt on keel. From the advertisement, and her
reputation, this looks like a good deal.
Since the boat is in Bellingham, I am guessing you are nearby. Being a new
to boating, I would suggest contacting Marin Faure, who is very trawler
knowledgeable, and lives on board in Bellingham, and making arrangement to
view the boat with him.
I know very little about the Willard trawlers, but have been, in the past
very well acquainted with the military Willards, and will attest to how well
built they are. They are more "sailor proof" as anything else ever built for
the U.S. Navy.
