We have used the $20 Tech-Link aka Aviator 500 units now for better than a
year almost everyday. Sure we have a little static but most of that is
caused by the persons wearing them ;-)

2 sets of 9 volt batteries in a years time so we have no complaints. Really
can't see getting anything more expensive as if you drop them or they take a
swim they're gone...break out another $20 ;-)

We got these of E-bay and bought two sets so we have a spare when we do lose
them overboard or they go belly-up.

Scott's not the first person we've encountered that has been unhappy with
Eartec's

As always YMMV...
