T&T: Debugging an electrical problem

I have a similar problem on my boat...  a couple months ago, i replaced the 
old Premier 20" 4 coil / oven electric stove with a new Kenmore 24" glass 
top / oven.  Works great on shorepower

On generator the glasstop works fine but  the oven doens't work.  Cooktop 
has analog rotary knobs, over has elecronic control with clock/timer, which 
doens't come on either.

The odd thing (at least to me) is that i have 120V  H to N  as well as 230V 
H to H both from shore and from genset...

I put this on  backburner for now :-)  but there might be more to your 
problem than just voltage.  Teh Kenmore specs say the unit is 208/240v
