T&T: Yeoman Chart Plotter

I have a Yeoman Chart Plotter from Chart Kit BBA dated about 1995.

Somewhere or sometime during my last 2 moves, I have misplaced the A/C adapter

There is a two prong plug where the adapter plugged in but I cant find   the polarity of the plug anywhere.

Does anyone know which pin is pos ?
Can I find a plug to match?
Can I open the unit to bypass the plug with a round computer type plug?

I plan to rig a 12 vdc brick to power the unit - unless the original unit pops up during the unpacking sessions.

Any help would be appreciated.  TRhanks.
