I've found that when there isn't a CVS nearby, Walgreen's will transfer from
CVS, and vice versa. However one CVS was irritated when I wanted to transfer
back to CVS for the second time in a year. They did it anyway. Best advice
find one national chain and try to stick with it.

NY State law had an annoying quirk two years ago, maybe still. If your
previous fill was from out of state and you still have multiple refills
left, the NY pharmacy can fill your prescription, but you will have zero
refills left as noted on the new container!

One independent pharmacy (if not all of them) in downtown Canojaharie, NY,
was very helpful. I forget how, but I do know I would use them again (3
blocks on left up the main street from the town docks).
