So what does the group say about Webasto vs Espar.

In a previous boat I installed a small Espar hydronic heater in a (gasp)
sailboat. Over a period of two years of trouble, including paying a
dealer's tech travel time and hour$$ to verify the installation, I never
got the thing to run more than about two days without needing some
little $250 part. I finally removed the unit, smashed it with a hammer
so no one would try to use it, and hooked the heating loop up to the
engine cooling. Result: reliable heat when the engine ran, and no heat
otherwise.
