I'm located at the Albemarle Plantation Marina which is above the "Insurance
Line". I moved my boat down here last March and found out for my insurance
company, and I believe others as well, the magic parallel of latitude is 36
degrees. My insurance is the same here as it was in Delaware. If you look
at a chart, the 36 degree parallel runs through Albemarle Sound. This
marina is on the north shore of the sound and is fresh water because the
sound is all fresh water.

This marina accepts none property owners and has better than average
facilities. The only limitation is that anything more than 5-6 foot draft
is a bit touch and go. I draw 5' and can get in and out OK. Here is the
URL.

The dock master is Eddie and I verified that they are accepting non property
owners.

Subject: T&T: NC Marina

Help Please Cruisers Bad old insurance company says we need to be north of
Cape Hatteras during hurricane season (June-Nov) or pay about double the
premiums (we are normally in FL). Any suggestions of a good and reasonable
marina that we could sit out the season in?

Thanks for your help-
