T&T: program for writing

Presuming you are writing about Trawlers in order to open this discussion on 
this list, and presuming you are using a MS/PC based system, a choice other 
than MS Word would be Microsoft Works Word Processor.

It is packaged free with MS Windows operating systems, it should have all 
the features needed for writing a novel without having the extra cumbersome, 
burdening features of MS Word that you won't need, and can create files in 
MS Word DOC format for internet interchange with those (carbon-based) 
editors.
