Watch out for that Wichard captive pin chain gripper. I thought it looked so good I bought two. The first one failed the first time I used it, bending the pin that holds the chain captive. The second failed the same way but it didn't happen until about the fifth time I used it. Poor design: the pin simply is not strong enough to take any sideward strain without bending, which means it can no longer be moved.
If you want to use 'em you might do better to buy them by the dozen or maybe the gross!

They have a captive pin chain gripper. This puts a good attachment point
anywhere in a chain. One end has a screw pin like a shackle, the other is a
ring.
They also have a Wichard chain grip. This is a hook for a snubber, but has a
locking set pin to hold it in place.
