Was the pump pulling or pushing through the racor and what kind of pump?
I think we can assume that given enough pressure water can be
pumped(pressurized) through regardless of the filter or aquablock.
Whether this holds for a vacuum situation, I don't know.
I suspect the underlying issues here may be the result of the large
variation in the lift pump, piping, whether the pump is pushing or
pulling through the racor. And precisely the pressures and vacuums that
result. And last, but not least whether the filter element is a genuine
racor with the aquablock filter media. The size of the water droplets
and the amount of mixing or emulsification that is present.
As a practical matter, I have never had a filter fill completely to the
top of the bowl with water or have water in any quantity make it by the
filter. And, I would point out that I don't believer in NEVER. The whole
idea scares the hell out of me, since the list of "never" things, keeps
getting shorter.
