T&T: auto pilot stopped working

I'm not specifically familiar with autohelm brand, but were I in your
situation, I'd disconnect the hydraulic pump wires and apply voltage directly
to them. See if the pump activates; Then reverse polarity and be sure it turns
(in the opposite direction) as well.
If this is successful, you can check voltage from the autohelm control as a
helper turns the helm. If no voltage, check the appropriatye fuse/circuit
breaker.
As far as tracking, everybody says upgrading a Robertson autopilot to inlcude
a RATE sensor really makes a big difference.
