T&T: Diesel Fuel Consumption

For what its worth. I have  a 30 gallon day tank in my pilothouse with which 
I fill from main tanks each day before traveling. With this setup I can 
accuately measure fuel comsumption with a dipstick. I have a 34ft standard hull  PH 
Marine Trader weighing approx 20,000 lbs,  with 120 Lehman and a 23/17 prop. 
At 1600 RPM the engine burns 1.6 GPH w/o considering return fuel which I 
understand is minimal w/Lehmans. With little wind and no current the speed is 6.3 
Knots. Not sure if this meets theoretical expectations. But they are real on 
Medora.
