T&T: PFD for a boat hook

How fortunate. My captain usually just throws me overboard to fetch it. But
tell us about the second time you erred.....
Handy thing, the first time I erred this way.
It was awful! I reached for the appliance while the handle was in a dip and
in so doing pushed it out of reach. "Herself" threw "cat" overboard!
Now, I know she is dreadfully attached to cat. She also knows I will do
anything to keep cat safe, lest she, that is herself, becomes upset that
I've actually allowed cat to be harmed an any way.
I dutifully launched myself into the chuck, in the direction of cat, who
swam, very un-cat like, towards the boat hook, drawing me nearer. When I had
reached the location of cat and hook, I grasped the hook carefully so as to
not drop it again, cat clambered onto my head, for safety, and a drier ride
back to the ship.
Ever had an angry, soggy cat on your head? You find in very short order that
they have possibly three times the number of talons which are actually
visible, and when they are attempting to swim all available talons are fully
deployed.
We arrived back at the boat, hook cat and black gang, with salted wounds,
and herself reached down and rescued cat from my pate, cat still clutching
some of same.
After getting myself back on deck, and stowing the boat hook, I asked
herself why she had tossed cat into to the water.
She said "I wasn't sure you were going to be able to find the boat hook,
without her help"
Some assembly, and batteries may be required.
Your version may differ in unimaginable ways.
