T&T: Year round boating?

A question about year round boating here in Maryland.  It never really gets
too cold here.... and for the rare times when Bay water freezes(haven't seen
it happen in years)... there are bubblers to prevent ice at the marina...
While my boat is hauled and winterized... How would one keep a boat ready to
go year round without having to winterize the engine after each use?  I know
I see boats in use year round...  I know we have January fishing
tournaments.... so how does one keep a boat in use year round?
 
Anyone have experience with this?
