T&T: Perkins Engine - can't find

I am buying a 36' Lien Hwa Sun Deck. The seller says that it has a new 200
hp Perkins (has turbo, I have seen). I cannot find an engine of that
description on the Perkins web site. I have found a couple of vague
references through google regarding such an engine in the early 1980's, but
nothing definite. Two questions, if anyone has information:
1.	Does or have Perkins manufacture such an engine; if so what does
anyone know about it?
2.	Why would they put a turbocharger - nice extra power, but in
exchange for more complexity and shorter engine service life, re: N.
Calder's Diesel book (yes, thanks, DO buy) - on a 200 hp engine for a boat
that size? It should take <40 hp at the shaft to do hull speed leaving 160
hp for engine drag, alternator, charger, fridg, etc. It seems, to me, that
this boat does not need the turbo or that much horsepower. Would that boat
be better off with a nice 160+/- hp engine, and burn less diesel?
Thanks for any information/help,
Very Happy New Year to All!
