Happy New Year to all!
Unfortunately it appears I'm going to have to replace the compressor on one of
my Cruisair reverse cycle units. It locked up this summer and Santa failed to
drop a new one down the chimney. Does anyone know of a source for a discounted
WFAH-16 compressor in the VA/NC area? One related problem - even before the
compressor locked up, I felt that this unit wasn't properly cooling or
heating, at least the conditioned air didn't feel nearly as cool or warm
(respectively) as that from the other unit. Has anyone had similar
experiences? Also, the unit was manufactured in 1994, according to the
boilerplate. Is this about the life expectancy for a $1300 compressor? I have
a friend who is part owner of a heating/AC wholesaler who says that a
comparable compressor for residential would be no more than $200 - $300! Just
whining now, I know.
Thanks,
