T&T: Anchoring and anchor watch

I have been using the GPS anchor alarm for over 10 years. Since about
the time that Garmin started putting the alarm in their GPS's.

I have not solved the problem of swinging, the GPS not being over the
anchor itself and the other problems. I generally set an alarm circle
big enough to keep the false alarms down to a minimum. I turn on "save
track" and visually examine the track marks to identify if the boat is
in fact dragging. The end result is a system that generates false
alarms, but not frequently. This is not foolproof, but at least I can
examine the track marks and convince myself that no significant dragging
is going on.

This is not a solution, but it is a method. I have tried all the tricks
that have been mentioned in this thread and have settled on the method
mentioned here.

Regards,
Mike
