I normally keep watch the first few hours to make sure I have set the anchor
but after that do not at night (there are just two of us). But....there
have been more than a few nights the wind has started blowing and boats
around me were dragging (me only once in Pirates Cove in BC) I sat up most
of the night with a pot of coffee and a flashlight. The wife slept right
through it all even with people blowing horns and screaming "your dragging"
etc. I have been hit three times in 30 years by boats dragging there
anchor. This is in the San Juan's and the Gulf Islands and farther north.

A question. When you are anchoring out do you normally keep watch as
required by the coll regs or do you just tuck in for the night and hope
for the best?
