Would anyone have any idea what would cause diesel fuel to work its way into my engine oil on my Ford Lehman 120. Briefly, the engine was rebuilt less than 200 hrs ago and performed flawlessly from Virginia to South Florida. After changing the oil and reprovisioning, we crossed the Gulfstream yesterday. Halfway to West End we found the oil pan beneath the engine saturated with diluted oil. After keeping a close eye on the engine for the remainder of the trip we were unable to locate where it was coming from. Once the engine was stopped and the oil was allowed to settle, we checked the dip stick and found approximately 3 gallons too much. We immediately drained the oil and removed 6 gallons (we had only put in 3 gallons when we changed the oil) of very thin oil. Any ideas?
