Tom, believe we crossed paths with your beautiful boat a few times in SE AK in
2005. At that time we had Verizon and AT&T both of whom, for $20 extra per
month would allow you to use all of your minutes in Canada. And you could turn
it on and turn it off with a phone call (no commitment). We felt service was
pretty comparable. Since then AT&T was purchased by Cingular which is changing
its name to AT&T and we are now using only Verizon, including an air card. As
of last summer Verizon was still offering the $20 per month deal. As info,
neither phone worked in Prince Rupert due to an ongoing dispute with their
local phone company.
