T&T: Simple (?) question about rope

The type of splice depends on the type of rope you're splicing. With regular
three-strand twisted rope, I've always made the splices by hand, a technique
that is easy enough to do but difficult to explain and takes some practice.
Splicing braided rope is much easier but requires a splicing needle, the size
of which depends on the thickness of the rope. Sorry, I don't know of a
website that demonstrates these techniques, but perhaps a Google search will
turn one up for you.
