Rightly or wrongly, in PassageMaker Magazine, Bill Palatore has been 
criticizing every new boat that doesn't have the shields. I'm confused 
because I cannot see how the shields prevent the plastic bowls from heat. I 
do see how they would prevent them from being struck by a wrench, etc.

In a fire, there are many more things to worry about. This is a good reason 
to ride herd on your surveyor because if he/she puts it down, today's 
underwriters will require you to remedy it and sign a document saying that 
you have done so.
