One thing to keep in mind is that more and more digital still cameras
have a limited video capability built-in. The camera my wife and I are
contemplating buying--- the Canon S3-- is an example. You can shoot
short videos to the card and load them to your computer. So if you had
a problem with a piece of instrumentation acting up in a certain way, or
an anchor windlass that hangs up for some reason, or you want to show
how your mast folding mechanism works to someone who needs to do
something similar to get his boat into a boathouse, the limited video
capacity of some of these digital still cameras may do the trick for
you.
