I have always used Rotella 40, and used to have the O'Reileys on Nasa Rd in
Seabrook, Tx order it. They would just bring it out of their warehouse the
next day. As luck would have it, just as I'm experimenting with switching to
multigrade, (running the multi in one engine and straight 40 in the other) I
notice that they now stock the Rotella 40 in gallons. Don't know if Detroits
use something different, but I would assume that any O'Reileys that don't
stock the Rotella could get it next day.
By the way, I keep very accurate records of oil useage, writing down every
make up quart I add, and after about 200 hours and 2 oil changes with useing
the multi in one engine and straight in the other, I can see no difference
in performance between the two. My main reason for wanting to change is that
the multi-grade is much more widely available. Even Wally-world and Sams
have the multi.
