T&T: SONAR

	Does anyone have experience/recommendations on simple forward Sonar
devices for pleasure boats i.e. effective but not too expensive, (as would
be the case with commercial devices).
	I will be using my Power Catamaran (shallow draft), in the Gulf of
Thailand, often cruising among island clusters. My primary objective is to
be able to detect those lovely little outcroppings or wannabe little baby
islands that hide themselves just below the surface, especially at high
tide, in sufficient time that I can avoid them.
	Thanks for any advice, recommendations, comments etc. Note, there
are a lot of hazards such as these that are not marked, hence any charts etc
would not really help much in these areas.
