 >With all this talk of anchor testing, has anyone seen a test report
on a
Forfjord

This anchor came up in a discussion on the new Trawler Forum and
nobody there knew much about it either. So out of curiosity I
searched for as many independent anchor tests as I could find in a
reasonable amount of time to see if the Forfjord had been included in
any of them. It was not in any of the tests I looked at.

It appears to be basically the same idea as the been-around-forever
Navy anchor. The Navy anchor is popular on commercial fishing boats
around here, but when we were searching for a different type of
anchor than what we had and I asked a couple of guys with big purse
seiners in our marina why they had Navy anchors, they said "because
they're the easiest anchor to stow." When I asked them how well it
set and how well it held compared to other anchors they said they had
no idea.

Friends we boat with a lot had a Navy anchor on their 36' lobsterboat
when we met them, but they some bad experiences with it so they
switched to a different type of anchor.

This isn't to say that the Forfjord has the same characteristics as
the Navy anchor---- I've not seen any reviews or tests to confirm or
deny this--- but it looks like it might.
