(Oops, hit the button too fast)

I got several suggestions both online and offline about the Livingston.
Although my 12T was rated for a 25 HP motor, the literature was a little out
of date and it refered to the standard of the time, the 2 stroke. Turns out
the 4 stroke was considerably heavier than the 2.

I've come up with two suggestions to improve the longitudinal stability.
First, does any Livingston owner know why Livingston has the open grooves in
the bottom of the "hulls". It's a water trap and hard to pump dry. Can anyone
think of a sound reason to not fill them with two part foam and glass them
over leaving a little sump over the drain plugs? Bolge pumps would work much
better and boat would stay drier.

Next thought is to build two foam sponsons-- essentially bricks of roughly 7"
x 10" x 18"-- and glass them to the stern well below the waterline. This would
give around 50# of added buoyancy aft, moving the center of buoyancy forward,
act as a trim tab and, painted with non-skid, make for a swim platform.

Having dinner tomorrow with some naval architect friends of mine and I'll see
if I can get a little more hard data.
