I just want to let everyone know that an important update of this workbook
will be forthcoming - maybe later this afternoon or tomorrow morning
(depending on how much time I can devote to it). Someone noticed what
appeared to be an anomaly in how the fuel consumption rate (gal/hr) is
calculated. When I studied this comment, I realized that - although the
calculation wasn't mathematically wrong - the gph results over time wouldn't
be particularly meaningful. Given this, I thought I should go back and
carefully scrutinize the logic behind the calculations. Also, since others
have pointed out a number of bugs, I wanted to do a more thorough review of
the workbook. I have found one or two minor things so far but I want to
finish my review before putting out another version.
I have a request that will help this effort. If someone could send me some
"real world" engine hours and fuel purchase data that I could use for
testing purposes it would be EXTREMELY helpful. What would be best is if
you have already entered these data into an earlier version of this
workbook. This would allow me to just copy and paste rather than have to
keypunch everything. A large (10+ entries) amount of data would be
preferable to a small amount.
Thanks again to all for their comments and suggestions. I will stick with
this until I have a clean, bug-free workbook so hang in there with me.
