T&T: britework

Well here it is winter again and I must begin the long, boring and time
consuming job of sanding and varnishing the rails on the boat. I live in the
south where the sun beats down unmercifully on the varnish. I know it sounds
like heresy but I've considered painting the rails. Maybe a nice grand banks
beige to contrast with the white hull and house. The varnished doors...which
are somewhat shaded from direct sun....would keep their beautiful varnished
look. I know there are jobs on the boat that never end....but I'm tired of
dealing with these rails. I really do have enough boat projects to keep me
busy until the grim reaper knocks on the port engine room door. What do you
think? Bill
