T&T: Anchor Shackle

the next larger size stainless shackle was  rated about right for the

galvanized chain...So with 5/16" HT (galvanized) chain rated at 3900 lbs,

example, I used a 3/8 SS shackle at the anchor end...I don't recall the
shackle rating any longer but it was close enough to seem satisfactory...

I replaced our rode last spring and bought from Defender.  Their tech
recommended that the shackle be one size larger than the chain size.  That
fits with Bob's experience.
However, I added a swivel which - after the swivel discussion - will be
removed before we leave the dock again.
