T&T: line Cutters

Last July we were cruising up the ICW past Beaufort, NC and headed into an anchorage on Back Creek which was recommended by someone in the area. We quickly discovered there was not enough water there and turned around and headed back to the ICW. On our way back we "caught" a lobster pot (crab trap?) in our port side prop. Our Spurs did not cut the line. We stopped the port engine and eased our way back to the ICW where it was deep enough for my husband to dive under the boat and cut the line. It was 1/2" steel cable! Fortunately we have an airhose hooked to a scuba tank and diving mask so he could take the wire cutters and remove the trap. Soooooo, I don't know about Maine but there are some trappers using steel cable on their traps so beware.
