I looked into these a few years ago but I decided that I want to cruise
Cigano a bit to see if I really need them. That said. . .
Blow a line-- which is an inevitablilty on a boat-- and all you get in your
engine room is air. Break off one vane and you still have 3 working.
I've heard people describe the the vanes as "of light construction" but. .
There is one person on this list with whom I have corresponded-- but alas, I
can't remember his name-- who has these stabilizers on his boat and loves
them. Big Sea Ray comes along and untypically tells the guy he'll give him a
slow pass. Guy says, Skipper pass at any speed you like, we're stabilized.
And it works.
