I would like to thank all those that responded to the filter question.
The RCI unit does not have a filter element! It has a sump in the bottom
that you drain as it gets full. The alarms are set around 40% of
capacity so you have plenty of time to drain it after you get to the
dock! I like the price, much less than a Racor or Gulf Coast and NO
filter elements to stock or dispose. Takes out almost all water and
everything over 10 microns. I know that the Gulf Coast and ESI work
well. This is another way to skin the cat with no supply and disposal
issues associated with a filter element. Try their web site:

It seems like a good engineering approach to a problem. And being an
engineer I can't help myself. :-)

I'll second everything Larry said about the Gulf Coast filter but also add
that the cost of the paper towel filter element is considerably lower than the
cost of other filter elements. I don't know what RCI uses for a filter
element. Paper towels are readily available.
