T&T: AC unit differences

I have inadvertently and expensively learned an important difference
between Mermaid and Cruisair units; the high pressure shutoff. I
somehow (it was that boat gremlin again) shut off the cooling water to
the unit in my daughter's cabin, which has a 7500 Cruisair unit. She
came home, turned on the unit, and it ran all night, the compressor
working intermittently until the high pressure switch turned it off,
but on it came again and again each time it cooled off, finally almost
ruining the compressor. It still runs, but makes quite a racket.
My Mermaid units have a manually resettable high pressure cutout, so
that if the cooling is cut off or diminished and the unit overheats,
you have to manually reset the switch before the compressor will run
again, meaning you know there is a problem.
