T&T: GPS error

I guess I am an idiot then. I have taken a leak with the autopilot on. I have done the number 2 thing with the autopilot on. Heck, I have even taken a shower with the autopilot on. Obviously, this was not within the confines of a channel but it was in a large bay. These were managed risk events. There was not a boat or obstacle from horizon to horizon. One of my bigger navigational errors was hitting a channel marker after telling the autopilot to go exactly to that channel marker. I was at the helm when it happened. But my face was burried in the stupid laptop.....heads down(if you are telling the autopilot/GPS to go to something, make sure it is not a solid object....:-)). Lucky for me, it was a floating nun and not a fixed mark. So let's not be so quick to judge. MISTAKES WILL BE MADE. The trick is to make sure those mistakes don't turn into accidents.

  Trawler on,
  John
