Rob,
In a previous life, I designed high voltage transmission lines. I can't
remember the formula for pressure, maybe someone else will give it to you, but
the real magic comes with the shape factor, which is part of the formula. We
typically used factors for a flat surface, and a round one. Darn if I know
what to use for a boat. I suspect the pressure will vary quite a bit based on
your shape factor assumption.
