T&T: Substitute for discontinued Raymarine SportPilot

It would be possible to build a system starting with the SmartPilot  
mechanical rotary drive  shown at <http://www.raymarine.com/raymarine/

but I was hoping there would still be some integrated system like the  
discontinued SportPilot as shown at
<http://www.raymarine.com/raymarine/Default.asp?

The SportPilot looks like such a perfect small-boat solution that I'm  
having trouble understanding why they dumped the product unless there  
was a better competitor ?
