T&T: Things to make oil changes easier

I use the plastic bags that the newspaper comes in when it rains for 
the filters on my Cummins 6BT5.9Ms. I put one on after the filter is 
loose enough to turn by hand. After the filter is free, I tie a knot 
in the end and put it into a trash can (or anything that won't be 
damaged if the bag springs a leak before being removed from the boat.
