Some resins are immune to the effects of ethanol. These tanks are
specifically for long term storage of fuels and they are often used as
replacement of steel tanks whihc did pose a ground water contamination
hazard.
These tansk had to get certification approval befoer beign installed.
We can only assume the certifying authority took due care in evaluating
suitability.
Ethanol additives have been used for at least a decade and was probably
known to insiders long before that.
If this is not the case, then we will have another EPA screwup like the MMT
additive fiasco on our hands, and it won't be restricted to boats.
