T&T: Zinc question

Another consideration is how your trim tabs were painted. Did they both have bottom pain on them and was it an equal amount. As we all know, bottom paint has copper in it and tha zinc is gonna lose that battle. The paint should never be in contact with the zinc but maybe it was in this case....or maybe the hydraulic action of the water affected one side more than the other.

I recently installed zincs, the dome type about 1.5 inch diameter, bolted
thru on both sides of the my SS trim tabs. After a month trip I was surprised
to see the top zinc was almost all gone, I was more surprised to see the zinc
underneath was like new. Does any one know why would one be affected more
than the other? Both had full contact with the SS tab and the bolt was tight.
