'Lo All,

A corollary question is: What effect will ethanol mixtures have on 
fiberglass storage tanks? Most new storage tanks around here are made 
of fiberglass - both for marinas as well as gas stations.

A month or so ago, I read a "report" that did not distinguish between 
old and new fiberglass tanks, it just said that the new ethanol 
mixtures would soften the resin and turn it into a soft putty in time 
as well as put some of the resin into solution (a gasoline and resin 
mixture). It was written about automotive and marine fuel tanks, not 
about underground or aboveground fiberglass storage tanks. Is there a 
difference? Will we have another source of major groundwater pollution?
