No need to visit marinas in the Chesapeake, too many good anchorages. If you
spent June going north and Sep/Oct going south in the Chesapeake, you still
couldn't cover all the great Chesapeake anchorages.

Upper (above Bay Bridge) Chesapeake:

Sassafras River
Worton Creek
Baltimore, near Anchorage Marina, visit and eat at Fells Pt or Canton.

Mid (between Bay Bridge and Potomac) Chesapeake:

Dividing Creek in Wye River
Clements Creek off Severn near Annapolis (grab a Navy ball for overnight)
Galesville, MD, go ashore and pick up a fresh baked pie at the general store
Dunn Cove, backside of Tilghman Island
Solomons, near Holiday Inn is great grocery store and West Marine is nearby,
both walkable
St Leonards Creek of Patauxent

Lower (Potomac and below)

Horseshoe Cove, St Mary's, MD
Parks Marina on Tangier Island (concession to a marina, just to see the
island)
Onancock River to Onancock, VA
Mill Creek off Great Wicomico

And many more in the Chester, Rappahannock, or Piankatank Rivers, or Mobjack
Bay.
