T&T: Another Useful Tip

Someone suggested to me that a heavy sports bag is a great way to store a
secondary rode, and that's how I do it. The line, with 10' of chain
attached, is just flaked into the bag bitter end first. I then pull enough
of the bitter end out so that it's readily grab-able. Works very well.
As Marin suggests, I also sized the new anchor as a just-in-case main
anchor. The original main anchor is a 44 pound Bruce, so I purchased a
Fortress FX-23 for its different holding characteristics. Although only 18
pounds, it's bulky and awkward, and thus resides in a bracket clamped to the
rail. (Fortress advertises that it can be disassembled into its several
components for easier storage, but since a wrench and several minutes are
required to put it together, that would negate its use in an emergency.)
Cheers, Garrett
