T&T: Problem with stop engine button with Perkins diesel

off.  When I moved to Marina del Rey, a dock neighbor had the same problem
and I showed him how to use the same solution.  I'll bet that at least half
the Perkins-equipped trawlers in the U.S. do the same thing!

RESPONSE:

My old GB has a pull cable (original equipment) for each of its twin Lehmans
flawlessly performing the same function for many years.  I have seen Lehmans
rigged with solenoids, but I am glad that in 1972, at least, GB chose a
tried and true low-tech method.  Sometimes "improvements" aren't really
that.
