T&T: Preventing groth in A/C intake

 I thought the proper material for the input
strainers was copper?
 Doesn't copper prevent all marine growth?
 I would replace the stainless steel strainer with
a copper strainer that was slightly 'oxidized' as
it is copper oxide that actually kills the
critters.
 Just my $0.02 worth.
