Remember that a solenoid is a solenoid--the plunger comes out and the plunger
goes in-----period.

When your proprietary one quits and  the co. ( Perkins,  Volvo etc) wants two
arms and a leg, get an off the shelf one that you may have to rearrange a
mounting hole on but for  several hundred bucks!!!!!!

The same is true of a solenoid relay.
